Take the boat through the archipelago to visit Sweden's newest and perhaps most beautiful art gallery, Artipelag, beautifully situated on Värmdö in Stockholm's archipelago. You travel with one of our classic archipelago ships M/S Gustafsberg VII or M/S Enköping. The journey through Skurusundet and the very narrow strait Baggenstäket is an experience in itself. On board you find a small cafeteria if you want to have cup of coffee or a sandwich on the way out.
Edmund de Waal and Giorgio Morandi
This summer’s major exhibition at Artipelag will introduce you to contemporary British ceramicist and author Edmund de Waal (b.1964) and Italian painter Giorgio Morandi (b.1890, d.1964) via dialogues on still life and the magic in simplicity.
Artipelag – art, design and nature
Artipelag is situated in what might be Sweden's most spectacular surrounding in the middle of the archipelago. The building in itself is a work of art. Visit the museum, take a stroll along the 1 km long beach walk, buy designer goods and ceramics in the gift shop or eat something in the restaurants.
At Artipelag there is two restaurants with a view over Baggensfjärden. At Bådan they serve an appreciated buffet, coffee, sandwiches and pastries. In the restaurant Artipelag you can feast on the fish and crayfish buffet with dishes inspired by the archipelago.
