Take a boat tour to Birka, the first city of Sweden and find yourself travelling back in time to the age of the Vikings. The ticket includes a round trip to Birka from the City Hall in central Stockholm, access to the museum and a guided tour of the ancient fields.
Today Birka is one of UNESCO's World Heritage Sites, going here is almost like travelling back in time.
Here at Björkö, in the middle of lake Mälaren, Birka town was based during the 750's and is today known as Sweden's first city. To this day there are visible traces of the people who were born, lived and died here.
Birka is a beautiful island with a historical landscape. There are daily guided tours where our guides introduce you to the Viking era. Restaurant Särimner offers meals and drinks.
The season highlight, Birka summer, offers activities for the whole family. Follow the boat life in the viking village, experience the Sveakampen viking games where children and adults are invited to join the action or try working as an archaeologist under expert supervision.
Boats depart from Stockholm, Hovgården, Rastaholm and Härjarö.
