From the ski resort Riksgränsen we offer Heli skiing in the true wilderness of Swedish Lapland. We have a total heli ski area of 60 000 square km, with more then hundred peaks, about the size of Austria.
Using the Helicopter as your private lift and a certified mountain guide to fins the best snow we offer a premium ski experience. The mountains in the close area provide 700-1000 m vertical and if you fly in to the more remote areas of Mårma and Kebnekaise you get up to 1500m vertical.
Our heli ski area is about 300km from east to west and some 200km north to south. That makes about 60 000 square km. This area has more then hundred peaks, all covered in snow waiting for you to ski them. This is the largest wilderness area in Europe and a unique experience.
Heli ski Riksgränsen is running every day from the 27th of Mars to the 31st of May 2009.
Group size & personal equiptmentEvery group can be maximum 5 skiers per guide. Besides normal skiing equipment it’s recommended to bring a helmet and ski goggles. There is a lot of snow flying from the helicopter.
The terrain is from easy to difficult. The skiing at the closer peaks in Riksgränsen we have skiing you can do if you can ski red and black runs. If you want to join us for the more remote areas like Mårma or Kebnekaise you need to have experience in offpiste skiing.
We have the highest level of security on both skiing and Helicopter transport. All skiers in the group will be provided with avalanche transceiver, shovel and probe.All our guides are certified UIAGM/ IFMGA mountain guides.
Head guide and responsible for all the Heli skiing is Andreas Bengtsson, founder of Mountain Guide Travel and certified UIAGM/ IFMGA mountain guide.
We use an Alouette III from Eurocopter. An extremely reliable and well suited for Heli skiing. The same model is used by the French mountain rescue.
