New Alvsborgs Fortress has been around since the middle of the 17th century, when it was built to replace the original Alvsborg Fort that today consists of ruins.

Today we are happy that the Fortress is no longer needed to defend Gothenburg, but can be used for more pleasent purposes. The Fort now offers all visitors a special and unusual environment to explore.

We arrange company partys, conferences, birthday dinners, weddings, a range of activities, and much more. What makes us unique is the historical frame that we offer in the form of Elfsborgs Carolines and the special environment.

The Fort is a building memorial owned by the State's real estate. The operation, in form of party and conference facilities and activities is since 2007 run by Stromma Turism & Sjofart AB, who also run the boat trafic to the fort.
