Malmöhus Castle

The Malmöhus castle is the oldest renaissance castle in the Nordic region.

In the Middle Ages Denmark’s coins were minted here.

This was from where the west side of the city was protected and the shipping traffic on the southern part of Öresund was monitored.

Since 1925 “Malmö Museer” (the museums of Malmö) has cared for the building and today it works as a museum.
