M/S Diana was built at Finnboda varv in 1931 and delivered to the shipping corporation Göta Kanal.

She was one of the last steam ships in scheduled traffic. The steam engine was replaced with a diesel engine in 1969.

Since 2001 the owner is Strömma Turism & Sjöfart after their acquisition of the shipping corporation Astrea.
