Quite simply, you don´t have to do anything on board a canal ship. Just sit back and relax. But there are many alternatives. You can choose to join the guided tours and activities on offer. Or not.
The tour guide is always on hand to give you information about the different alternatives, so you can choose what to do at just that moment. In addition to the organised excursions, there are opportunities for private explorations, such as taking a tour or a jog along the towpaths beside the canal. Those who want trips further afield can borrow one of the ship´s bicycles.
On hot summer days a dip in the cooling water of Lake Roxen (or other lakes along the way) might be just the thing. Then there is the wonderful atmosphere in the old alleyways of Vadstena, Trosa or Söderköping. Or you can listen to the quiet of an early morning on the bridge with the captain, as the ship glides through the morning mist. And if not these, then how about a deckchair on the bridge deck, watching nature slowly slip by.
